Our Story

Discover the craft behind every piece of our tonewood

At Tone Flame Wood, wood comes to life through passion, tradition, and dedicated craftsmanship. Since 2006, my father and I have been carefully selecting, cutting, and preparing tonewood for string instruments — violin, cello, and double bass.

Years of hands-on experience, close collaboration with skilled luthiers, and continuous refinement of our process have taught us one essential principle: every piece of wood matters. Each selection is made with precision and respect for its acoustic potential, ensuring it can become part of an instrument that truly inspires.

We don’t simply supply wood — we provide the foundation for sound, character, and artistry.

Our Story

Every log that enters our shop has a story to tell. Before we even pick up a saw, we evaluate it for its structure, density, and that unique, internal resonance.

We aren’t just looking for timber; we’re looking for the soul of a future instrument. We constantly ask ourselves: How will this feel in a luthier’s hands? Selection is just the beginning. From the first precision cut to the years of patient, controlled drying, we treat the wood with the respect it deserves.

We don’t rush the process because great tone can’t be fast-tracked. For us, it’s never about how much we can move—it’s about the trust we build with the makers who rely on us. When you choose a set from us, you’re getting more than just wood; you’re getting a partner in your craft..

This business started as a way to help my father, but it became my life’s work. When I select a piece of wood, I’m not just looking for density or structure—I’m looking for the excellence my father demanded. We treat every customer like a partner in that legacy.
